Anthony Bourdain Loves Romania

According to traveling celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, Romania’s House of Dracula hotel looks “as if a Motel 6 had sex with a Renaissance faire.”

You can read more about how much he loved his recent visit to Romania on his blog (trust me, it’s worth it). Love him or hate him, one thing you can say about Bourdain is that he’s never boring. Another good story about Bourdain is below:

Bourdain is my hero! He had his epiphany with food when he first tasted a raw oyster on the shores of Massachusetts. He since has gone on to become one of the greatest food personalities in the history of man. With the coolness of Paul Newman, the intoxicating bravery of Hunter S. Thompson, and the humor of George Carlin; Boudain has savagely carved a path of destruction through the restaurant business, leading him through the back doors of some of the most exotic and sometimes horrifying restaurants, diners, cafe’s, bars, strip-clubs, and out houses most humans would cringe at. If Bourdain says Romania is cool…well guess what…Romain is BLEEPING cool!

Hey - thanks for the comment. I’m also a Bourdain fan. But check out his blog (linked to from the post). He actually *did not* enjoy Romania at all, and his reaction to his visit is pretty hilarious, if you appreciate his brand of humor. (Once again, my post proves that sarcasm does not always translate well in the blogosphere!)
